Pop star Ariana Grande’s world tour, which includes two shows at The O2 Arena in Greenwich, hangs in the balance after a terror attack claimed the lives of 22 people.

The Side to Side singer is due to play in London on Thursday and Friday this week (May 26 and 27), but sources claim the shows might be cancelled.

This remains unconfirmed, but The O2 this morning tweeted that it would update fans on the “status of these shows”.

It tweeted: “Along with everyone else, we are shocked and saddened by the terrible tragedy in Manchester. Our thoughts are with all those affected.

“Ariana is due to perform at The O2 on Thursday and Friday and we will advise as soon as we can as to the status of those shows.”

A spokesman for the O2 has advised customers to expect additional security checks.

The spokesman said: "Anyone visiting The O2 should allow extra time for enhanced security checks.  More details about security at The O2 can be found here."

But celebrity news site TMZ claims the world tour, which also includes shows in Belgium, Poland, Germany and Switzerland, will not go ahead.

In the early hours of this morning, the pop singer tweeted: “broken. from the bottom of my heart I am so so sorry. i don’t have words.”

A suicide bomber killed 22 people, including children, as an explosion tore through fans leaving Grande’s concert at the Manchester Arena last night.

Some 59 people were also injured when the blast caused by an improvised explosive device carried by the attacker detonated at the Manchester Arena.
