Cheam & Sutton Rotary have raised over £26,000 for local, national and international charities.

The group are a part of Rotary International, founded over 110 years ago to serve community and to support peace, friendship and international understanding.

The Sutton Mental Health Foundation and the Royal Marsden Charity’s Play Specialist appeal were Cheam & Sutton Rotary’s main charities for their 2016/2017 year.

They also donated to other local charities like St. Raphael’s Hospice, Macular Society, MS Society, MacMillan Nurses, Sutton Young Carers, Save the Children and the Sutton Lodge as well as supporting international causes.

A statement read: “It is amazing what we can accomplish when hearts and minds work together. Rotary Clubs consist of members from different from countries, cultures, and occupations and these leaders of society are taking action to enhance health, empower youth, promote peace, and advance their community, all round the world.”
