A Leatherhead children’s charity was given a £3,000 grant from a supermarket’s charitable wing, which is mostly funded through shopping bag sales.

The Morrisons Foundation awarded the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity with the grant to help support families caring for a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.

The money will be used to run the charity’s drop-in groups where families can meet others in similar situations, share their experiences and build relationships with each other.

Kay Goacher, store manager of Weybridge Morrisons presented the cheque to Rainbow Trust employees on behalf of the Foundation on Friday, June 30.
