NHS Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has appointed local GP Dr Jeffrey Croucher as Clinical Chair. The appointment was ratified at the CCG’s Governing Body meeting on Wednesday 5th July.

Dr Croucher takes over the role from Dr. Brendan Hudson, who announced in April that he was stepping down to resume working as a full time GP.

Dr Croucher was appointed as Clinical Chair following a rigorous selection process, including interviews with senior CCG and NHS England colleagues and a presentation to Sutton’s GP practices and Governing Body members. He is a GP at Benhill and Belmont GP Centre and has worked with the CCG since its inception, as a locality lead and currently as mental health lead.

Speaking of his appointment, Dr Croucher said: “I am delighted to be appointed as Clinical Chair of Sutton CCG. It will be an honour to serve the Sutton population in this role and I will aim to maintain Sutton CCG's history of strong effective healthcare leadership.”

Dr. Chris Elliott, Chief Clinical Officer, Sutton CCG, said “Dr Croucher was a very strong candidate and I am very much looking forward to working with him in his new role. I would also like to pay tribute to everything that Dr. Brendan Hudson has achieved for the people of Sutton over the last few years, along with his strong support for the CCG’s leadership team.”

Dr Croucher takes up his role as Clinical Chair from Monday 10th July.
