Worcester Park Baptist Church was damaged in a fire on Saturday night (July 15).
The church said the fire was a “suspected arson attack”.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.04pm and the incident was over at 11.58 pm.
“We worked with Surrey Fire and Rescue and sent two fire engines. A small function room was damaged by the fire.”
Worcester Park Baptist Church said: “Following a suspected arson attack on the church premises, we are thankful for God’s protection.
“No one was hurt and damage was confined to one room. We are grateful for the fire brigade, police and investigator who came on site to deal with this incident.”
Met Police and Surrey Police were contacted for a comment.
