Sutton’s firefighters will be opening their doors to the public this Sunday (July 23).
Residents will be permitted to meet local crews and gain a better understanding of the day to day work of the Borough’s firefighters.
Children will be able to sit in the fire engine and try on a mini fire kit.
A demonstration of a road traffic collision will showcase the job fire crews carry out when attending such incidents.
There will be refreshments available at what is being described as a “fun for all the family” event where a bouncy castle will also be present.
One person wrote on the event page, “Fire men and women should paid the same as a footballer. When does a footballer save lives? Good luck Sutton. You do an amazing job.”
The event, based at Sutton Fire Station at 43 St Dunstans Hill, commences at 12.00pm and will end at 5.00pm.
