A group of residents in Hackbridge has issued concerns for a proposed new six-storey building in the area.

Hackbridge & Beddington Corner Neighbourhood Development Group held a meeting on Monday (July 31) to discuss the planning application.

They told Sutton Guardian: “One of our concerns at present is that approximately 1200 new homes have already been approved for Hackbridge, most of which are now under construction and with any additional new housing on top of this, will our local services cope?

“It is currently proposed by Govia Thameslink Railway to reduce the peak hour train services from Hackbridge Station, from 2018. We question the wisdom of this proposal when you consider the population increase that Hackbridge will experience over the next few years and that there are few other transport options locally for getting into central London.”

Developer Hexagon Investments Limited has applied to the council for permission to build the 12 flat block located at 59 London Road in Hackbridge.
