Parts of Sutton that showcase the borough’s history will be opened to the public next month to commemorate the national Heritage Open Days festival and the London Open House programme.

Heritage Open Days is the country’s biggest history and culture festival drawing over 2,500 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers.

The celebrations take place from September 7-10.

It includes a day at the 17th Century Edwardian house Honeywood Museum, Honeywood Walk in Carshalton.

The Service Wing Museum in Nonsuch Park in Cheam will also host an event at its Tudor-Gothic 19th Century mansion.
