A retirement home is inviting people from Carshalton to join them for coffee and cake to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Churchill Retirement Living will host the fundraiser on Thursday, September 28 from 10.30am at its Laurel Lodge development on Denmark Road.

This is part of the charity's World's Biggest Coffee Morning Campaign.

Churchill Retirement Living has raised £300,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support since 2009.

Last year they raised £30,000 with their upcoming coffee morning being their eight time taking part.

A spokesperson said: "Our Lodges offer a sense of community and companionship, and this event is an ideal opportunity for visitors to also experience the lifestyle on offer here. Many of our Owners regularly take advantage of the communal facilities on offer, including the Owners’ Lounge where we hold coffee mornings and fun social events like this.”

Churchill Retirement Living has provided purpose built apartments designed for older people since 1998.

Their aim is to raise £35,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support this year.
