A £1.5 million revamp of a historic building in Sutton is ‘well underway.’
Whitehall Museum in Malden Road, Cheam, is set to re-open in 2018 after being awarded a grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Councillors were last month given a sneak peek inside the building, thought to have been built in the Tudor period around 1500.
A program of events will be launched ahead of the re-opening next summer, which will include a local history network to learn and discuss about the surrounding area as well as events and activities for children, families and the local community.
