Watching movies at Sutton's Empire Cinema just got a whole lot more intense.

As of today (April 26) Empire's second-ever D-Box screening room - the latest in immersive technology - is open to the public in Sutton.

Films like Deadpool 2, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Solo can now be made even more realistic as your seat shudders and sways, in perfect synchronisation to the action.

Jon Nutton, marketing director of Empire cinemas, said: "We think it's something special, it makes a fantastic addition to the cinema experience.

"It's not a ride, it's not like going to Alton Towers, it's more subtle than that."

If you prefer to relax, you can also put your feet up while watching a movie because the luxury seats also recline.

The D-Box recliners are equipped with extendable footrests and individual motion controls, so people can decide just how low they want to go or the level of motion intensity.

President and CEO for D-Box Technologies, Claude Mc Master, said it was an exciting time for the cinema.

“The brand-new Sutton complex is a beautiful location for us to showcase our innovative motion technology and is proof that our flexible, turnkey installation and consistent results at the box office are always a great fit for leading exhibitors like Empire.

"We are pretty confident that it will be a popular attraction with consumers who are searching for unique, premium luxury experiences.”
