A man who tried to rob someone at knifepoint in Wallington has been jailed for nearly three years.
Charles Hicks-Magee, of Warwick Road, pleaded guilty after being charged with attempted robbery and carrying an offensive weapon at Croydon Crown Court last month.
The 31-year-old approached a member of the public in Alcester Road while holding a knife on December 23 last year.
A Met Police spokesman said officers were called to the incident after they were alerted by the victim, before Hicks-Magee was arrested and the weapon was retrieved.
He added that Hicks-Magee was remanded into custody and later appeared in court on April 19, after which he was sentenced to two years and ten months in prison.
