A Worcester Park charity shop has got into the spirit of the royal wedding festivities with an interesting shop display ahead of the big day.

The Marie Curie branch, in Central Road, has its own Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in its window in the build-up to the event this weekend (May 19).

With a couple face masks from Poundland and a half-hour to spare, shop manager Caroline Toolan has designed the store’s tribute to the couple.

She said: “I think it’s fab, and of course nothing is allowed to move out of that window until after Saturday.

“I’ve even actually got a proper wedding dress to put on Meghan ready for the wedding.

“Harry, of course, will be dressed in his wedding gear, probably tomorrow [May 18] I’ll do that so it’s ready.”

Richard Johnson, who runs a community Facebook group for Worcester Park, spotted the display before publishing the image online.

One person wrote on the post, ‘I had to take a double-look at it this morning on my way to work,’ before another gave it ‘top marks for creativity’.

Caroline considers herself a big royals fan and will be recording the wedding so she can watch it after work.

The display will remain in the shop window until Saturday, but she’s also proud of her designs in general.

She added: “I get a lot of compliments about our shop window, and even my assistant managers – even if they’re not at work – they’ll go past the shops sometimes and they’ll go, ‘Oh Caroline’s in, the windows are looking good’.

“I’m just so thrilled for him [Prince Harry] that he’s met the one and he’s happy.”
