A new African and British artisan deli is opening its doors in Cheam this week.

Inyama’s, in High Street, will have an instore butcher which provides both southern African and British meats while there will also be a selection of sauces, jams, and cakes.

The new restaurant, the ‘branchild’ of both owners Glen and Robyn Sinclair, is scheduled to open on May 30.

Mrs Sinclair said: “We moved here from South Africa 12 years ago, and gradually noticed a gap in the market for a really high quality deli that brought together the best of our heritage and the best of our new home.”

“We have two children and we want Inyama’s to become part of the local community and a place where people can come and take part in activities and tastings and also to bring us their ideas.

“We have worked really hard to bring together what we hope is a great range of products from Britain and southern Africa but we’re definitely interested to know what our customers would like to see.”

According to its official Facebook page, there will also be crisps, sausages, kebabs, cheese grillers and more available for customers.

The Mayor of Sutton, Wallington South councillor Steve Cook, will be visiting the new restaurant for its opening in one of his first duties in the role since being appointed.

Mrs Sinclair added: “It took us a long time to find the right spot and to source some really excellent products but we’re really excited to finally be here and opening up!”

Inyama's address is 40 High Street, Cheam Village, SM3 8RW.

The restaurant's opening hours are from 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday, while it is closed on Sundays.
