Two charities have been awarded more than £21,000 each after an appeal by the former Mayor of Sutton.
Sutton Carers Centre and Sutton Women’s Centre have both been presented with the cheques after fundraising events raised £42,709.
Representatives from both organisations attended an event for the presentation held by Cllr Jean Crossby and Cllr Marlene Heron at the council’s civic offices.
Both were chosen last year as the former Mayor’s charities, while this year current Mayor Cllr Steve Cook is raising money for the St Helier Kidney Fund and Home Start Sutton.
