Pupils in colleges and sixth forms across Sutton have received their A-Level results as they make their next steps into work or further education.

Millions of pupils in south London, Surrey, and the rest of England were with their parents or carers on the big day as they planned for their futures ahead.

Overton Grange School, Stanley Road

Highlights:

- 35 percent of grades were A* to A

- 70 percent of grades were A* to C

- Head girl Charlotte got A*AA

- Head boy Derby got AAB

Joint Overton Grange School headteachers Gerry Bennett and Keith Stride said: “We’re extremely proud of our sixth form students.

“They have been a pleasure to work with and are an inspiring example to the younger students here.

“We wish them every success in the coming years, whatever they choose to do.”

Carshalton High School for Girls, West Street

Highlights:

- 20 percent of grades were A* to A

- 45 percent of students got A* to B grades

- Nearly 80 percent of grades were A* to C

- Overall pass rate: 99 percent

- 60 percent of vocational subjects reached highest grades

Sutton High School (GDST), Cheam Road

Highlights:

- School’s first-ever computer science results at A-Level were at 100 percent for A* to A

- Straight A* grades in art, French, and religious studies

- Mathematics, the school’s most popular subject, had 69 percent of results graded A* to A

- Madeleine Waller (King’s College London, KCL)

Sutton High School headteacher Katharine Crouch said: “We are proud of our consistently strong academic results, but we also make sure that girls leave sixth form fully prepared to take advantage of the exciting opportunities beyond school.

“That’s why we have an award-winning careers advice service that helps students to identify their passions and their talents, and then guides them every step of the way as they work to reach their goals.

“We can’t wait to see what our girls achieve next.”

Wallington High School for Girls, Woodcote Road

Highlights:

- 14 students secured places at Oxbridge

Headteacher Richard Booth said: “We are absolutely thrilled for all our students who have worked so hard to secure these impressive results, alongside the support and dedication of the staff and not forgetting the important part that our parents play as well.”

Greenshaw High School, Grennell Road

Highlights:

- 20 percent of results were A* to A

- 49 percent were an A* or B

- 75 percent were A* to C

Individual successes:

- Indip Niroula (computing (artificial intelligence) at Imperial College London) got A*A*A*A* in mathematics, further mathematics, physics, and chemistry

- Teigan Collins (geology at Imperial College London) got A*A*A* in geography, mathematics, and chemistry

- Joseph St John (medicine at the University of Birmingham) got A*A*A* in mathematics, biology, and chemistry

- Emily Yelf (English at Trinity College, University of Cambridge) got A*A*A in her results
