Pop's Peter Pan Cliff Richard is hoping to woo a younger audience with his new album by launching it digitally.

According to the 67-year-old's website he will be following in the footsteps of Radiohead by offering his latest work Love, The Album over the internet before it hits the shops.

And in similar form to Radiohead who asked fans how much they wished to pay for their new album In Rainbows, the Weybridge resident will be encouraging fans to set his work's price.

Cliff's fans can brace themselves to be charged a maximum of £7.99 - the average cost of an album on iTunes - but the final price will depend on how many copies are bought.

If fans decided the 15-track collection, due to be released on November 12, is too pricy the cost could fall to a £3.99 minimum.

Sir Cliff said: "Who'd have thought I'd get a buzz from creative marketing?"

"As artists we face a stark choice. We either keep one step ahead of the technology which is changing our industry so radically - or we throw up our hands and quit. Personally I'm not for quitting."
