Heathrow has been voted the world's least favourite airport.
Increased security checks, leading to huge queues over the summer and planes taking off without passengers were among the reasons given by British travellers.
The airport, which is owned and operated by BAA, also had problems with lost luggage and baggage handling waiting times.
London Mayor Ken Livingstone has criticised the airport, which claims to be the world's busiest, saying it brings shame' on the capital.
Heathrow was joint bottom with Chicago's O'Hare airport in the survey of 2,500 travellers by website TripAdvisor.
