A man was left with a broken jaw after a row over food on a busy train platform.

The 37-year-old victim was attacked as he sat on a bench waiting for a train at Clapham Junction station.

He got into an argument with two men who were throwing food around the platform.

He was then seriously assaulted and punched in the face until another man intervened.

Police have released CCTV stills of the suspect, who boarded the last train to Southampton with his companion and is believed to have got off at Woking.

He was white, aged in his early 40s, around 5ft 8in tall, with a stocky build and thinning brown hair.

He is possibly Australian or South African and wore white trousers and a brown jacket.

Officer also want to trace the man who helped the victim, as well as anyone else who may have seen the attack on Saturday, October 13 at 1.15am.
