A man needed 22 stitches after being hit in the face with a bottle when walking home from new year celebrations in Surbiton.
The attack happened on Tuesday, January 1 at approximately 1am in Effingham road with the junction of Balaclava road near Victoria recreation grounds.
The victim wished two passing youths Happy New Year and had a bottle smashed in his face after one of them took offence.
Kingston police are looking for two white males and appealing for witnesses to the attack.
The first is approximately 16 and 5ft 9in tall, of slim build, and was riding a black bike, with silver and red stripes on the frame. He was wearing a beanie hat and dark clothing.
The second youth is approximately 15, of heavier build and was wearing a blue hooded jacket with the hood up.
The youths fled the scene towards Lovelace road.
