An elderly man is believed to have lost his hand after being trapped under a lorry in Tooting today.
The 76-year-old man, was hit by a lorry in Tooting High Street near the junction with Gatton Road around 1.50pm.
It has been reported the man may have lost his hand although this has not been confirmed.
Officers confirmed the driver stopped at the scene.
The road is currently blocked off by police.
The London Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and rapid response car to the scene.
The man was eventually freed and taken to St George's Hospital, Tooting as a priority.
Witness, security guard Mohamed Drif, said he saw the man hit by a construction lorry.
"I saw the guy crossing over the road, then crossing again and the crossing back," he said.
Mr Drif added: "When it happened, everyone rushed outside and we saw the guy lying in the road. It looked like the wheel had run over him."
