A popular Wetherspoons pub in Purley that has been on the market for five months has found a buyer.

The Foxley Hatch was among four other Wetherspoons in south London which were put up for sale.

These were the Wrong Un in Bexleyheath, the Asparagus in Battersea, Capitol in Forest Hill and the Bankers Draft in Eltham.

The pubs are currently being marketed by CBRE and Savills, according to The Caterer.

The Purley pub is under offer and will permanently close once the deal goes through, but will continue to trade as normal in the meantime.

Despite the offer, other proposals are still welcome, according to the JW Disposals website.

It is unknown when the Foxley Hatch will permanently shut.

Senior director at CBRE, Toby Hall, said the pubs represent an "excellent" opportunity for existing pub operators.

He adds that there are a mix of locations in the portfolio which is rarely seen in the market.

The chain, founded by businessman Tim Martin, operates around 800 pubs around the UK and Ireland.
