A construction company based in Wallington has been named the UK’s Building Company of the Year.

Home Republic Ltd received the award at the national Master Builder Awards organised by the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) on September 22 in London.

The company was founded by Alex Strikovs and Igor Mirosnikovs in 2012.

Home Republic had previously won regional awards in April and was nominated in three categories at the national level.

The judges praised Home Republic for its “customer focus, attention to staff well-being, strong communication with clients, and high-quality work”.

The company also demonstrated a commitment to supporting communities by donating furniture to charity shops and engaging in environmental protection efforts near their construction sites.

Alex Strikovs, Managing Director of Home Republic, said: “We did not expect to win this award but it feels amazing.

“We are super proud to be part of this and winning is out of this world.

“It is going to be very important for our business - we have been members of the FMB for many years and it helps us move forwards and become better builders.

“Having won this award will be a huge motivation for us and a reassurance for our clients.”

Brian Berry, Chief Executive of the FMB said: “Home Republic have shown themselves to be an excellently run company, as demonstrated by their successes earlier this year in the FMB’s regional awards.

“The work they have done, not simply with the remarkable rate at which their business has grown, but also their focus on supporting communities and supporting their staff, demonstrates them to be worthy winners of this award.

“Home Republic fully encapsulate what it means to be a Master Builder."
