Students have launched the first school radio station for Sutton.
Avenue Primary School pupils will broadcast their work on the radio station while parents and the local community can listen via a live stream.
The school, which won an in December for their communication and technology work, teamed up with London Grid for Learning and educational radio company Anderton Tiger to launch the station.
Student Zahra Ahmad, aged 11-years-old, said: "It was a really good experience, different from anything we'd done before.
“We each put together a part of the broadcast. We learned how to use the equipment and put sound effects in our recordings .It was fun and I can't wait to use it again.”
The London managed learning environment (MLE) award celebrates innovative approaches such as developing online radio and implementing a virtual school environment.
Head teacher Dorothy Middlemass said: “Avenue Primary is a forward thinking school, we constantly strive for excellence and recognise the importance that ICT must play in bringing learning into the 21st Century for all our pupils.”
Executive member for children and young people Councillor Tony Brett Young said: “Well done to Avenue Primary.
“The successful launch of their new radio station is yet another example of how the school is giving its students some of the best IT training there is - in Sutton and across the capital.”
