Croydon schoolgirl Melissa Eloji-Murray will take her first steps towards fulfilling her dream of becoming an author this summer after winning a writing competition.
Melissa, from South Norwood, won £100 and the chance to attend a coaching scheme with acclaimed author Millie Murray as part of the Write Up Your Street competition.
Sixteen-year-old Melissa was one of only 10 students to be given a place on the programme run by East-Side Educational Trust. Melissa, who attends Grey Coat Hospital School in Westminster, will spend three months working alongside Ms Murray developing her writing skills.
At the end of the programme she will produce an original piece that will be displayed on bill boards across London.
