Palace defender Danny Granville admits Wednesday's game against Sunderland is crucial.

He scored the equaliser against Wigan, and said: "It's a big game for us against Sunderland. If we win this we've got a strong chance of getting in the top six."

After the Black Cats, Palace face Crewe (a), Walsall (h) and Coventry (a), which Granville feels is preferable to that of our rivals.

He said: "We were disappointed not to win but Wigan have still got to play West Ham and Sunderland.

"We've probably got a better run in so that could prove to be a valuable point. We're sitting just behind the top six and, with a bit of luck, we'll get in there."

Last Saturday Palace's U19s lost 1-0 at Ipswich, leaving coach Terry Bullivant disappointed but not downbeat.

He said: "Over the course of the 90 minutes we didn't deserve to lose. I can't fault the effort of the lads though, it was excellent.

"When I have people like Tom Soares, Sam Togwell and Lance Cronin out there doing what they can do it's a massive help.

"The great thing for the younger lads at Palace is that when they see the likes of Gary Borrowdale, Ben Watson, Wayne Routledge and now Tom getting into the first team it gives them a bit of belief.

"If you come to Crystal Palace and you're good enough, then you will get your chance."

Three more fixtures have been organised for the U19s: Saturday April 24 Northampton (h), Saturday May 1 Charlton (a), Saturday May 8 Wycombe (h).

On Saturday, May 22 Palace host their player of the year dinner dance in a marquee on the Selhurst Park pitch. A table of 10 guests is only £450 including VAT, or you can book an individual place for £52.50 including VAT. Call the corporate sales team on 020 8768 6023.
