Romsey 9
Purley John Fisher 53
Champions Purley John Fisher completed their London South West Division Four league programme in style with a convincing win away to Romsey on Saturday.
PJF secured a constant source of ball from their forwards and in good conditions their backs made the most of the possession scoring eight of the side's nine tries.
Fly-half Paul Hobden converted four of these. The additional try was scored by the young second row Mike Lorraine direct from a Romsey kick off.
PJF's ability to keep the ball alive in the tackle enabled them to attack in sweeping moves and overpower the home side. Henrys, Hickey and Penwarden each scored a brace with Hobden and Hession adding to the tally in a performance which bodes well for next season in London South West Three.
Meanwhile, PJF's second team matched their First XV's achievements by thrashing Old Emanuel 51-3. John Amess, Ollie Davis and Dan Anderson scored two tries each in impressive perfomances, with man-of-the-match Mike Tuke also scoring under the posts.
Newcomer Xabier and seasoned hooker Allan, both rounded off fine handling moves to score.
PJF will be entering a side in next weekend's Middlesex Sevens qualifiers at Staines. Their vets will be playing Old Bevonians at home on Sunday. The following weekend the club will be taking 54 players on their end of season tour to Budapest.
