A new project to help men from ethnic minorities get back into training or employment is beginning to reap rewards.
Get on with IT, which is run by Horizon Housing Association in Croydon, provides a basic introduction to IT, fast-track courses, plus optional work placements.
Men from ethnic minorities and those looking to change career are benefiting from the scheme, which is part-funded by European Social Funding.
Simon Wizzeyeimana, from Croydon, was one of the first students to take part in the project. He said the course helped him grow in confidence and gain the skills to apply for work as an administrator.
Project manager Stephanie Noyce said it prepared people for returning to the workplace through training and one-to-one support. The first training programme is now over, but there is still time to sign up for future courses, which will run until October. Call Stephanie Noyce on 020 8768 2071 or Shirley Watson on 020 8768 1946 for details.
