Friends of Daniel Tyson have left tributes and flowers at the spot where he was stabbed to death.

Flowers were laid down once police left Winchcombe Road at about 7pm on Tuesday.

One tribute read: “We will miss you loads mate. Rest in peace.”

Another said: “To Danny, RIP. Sleep well, you have earned it. God bless you.”

One old friend, who did not want to be named, said she was “devastated” by the news.

Mr Tyson, who is thought to have three children, two of whom live in the area, grew up and went to school in Rosehill in the 1980s.

He was married to Sally, who he lived with in Paisley Terrace, and also had a sister, Bridget, who lives in Malaga, in Spain.

According to one friend, he recently returned from the Costa del Sol after trying to break a heroin addiction.

She said: “It is so sad, I can not believe it. He had a few problems and there were a few people that did not like him but no one deserves this.”

Mr Tyson had been struck by a recent tragedy as his mother died around Christmas time.

Mr Tyson’s family were too upset to comment.

Danny Tyson, 43, of Paisley Terrace, was killed outside a house in Winchcombe Road on Monday night.

An ambulance and police were called at 9.15pm and Mr Tyson was found suffering from multiple stab wounds, lying in the street.

He was treated by ambulance staff, but bled to death at the scene.

Police officers had already been called to the road three hours earlier by a neighbour who reported arguing and fighting at the house but no action was taken.

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers first attended at 6.35pm, but no offences were disclosed.”

Mr Tyson was well known in the surrounding area and was known to have an alcohol problem.

He appeared at Sutton Magistrates’ Court in November charged with carrying a large kitchen knife.

He pleaded guilty and received a 12-month community order and was ordered to attend an alcohol treatment course for six months.

William Eugene Scott, 54, unemployed and David John Howard, 42, both of Winchcombe Road, Carshalton appeared at Sutton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning charged with Mr Tyson’s murder.

The pair, who were arrested on Monday, were remanded in custody and were ordered to appear at the Old Bailey on July 20.
