Radio Marsden has teamed up with Times Square Shopping Centre to secure 24/7 on-line broadcasting across the UK.

The unique deal will ensure the station can develop its community service across Sutton and beyond – increasing its appeal and profile as one of the country’s leading hospital radio stations.

Times Square’s Manager Noel Bergmann said the groundbreaking agreement underlined an ongoing commitment by the shopping centre to support and raise awareness of local community initiatives.

He said: “We were highly impressed by the listener feedback Radio Marsden received during its one month FM broadcast last year and agreed to back the station’s application to broadcast online.

“It means the volunteers running the station can not only enhance the hospital service - extending access to friends and relatives who are not able to visit patients personally at the Royal Marsden – but provide a truly local radio station for Sutton.”

The deal with Times Square has allowed the station to install the latest online broadcast technology at its studio in Sutton’s Royal Marsden cancer hospital and earlier this week Mr Bergmann joined Radio Marsden Chairman and Breakfast Show presenter Jason Reynolds to see first hand the improvements.
