The council is launching an online tracker to allow people to report and track problems such as graffiti and dog fouling.

The tracker, called Sutton Direct, will also allow people to inform the council of broken street lamps, missed bin collections or to give details of potholes or fly tipping.

Residents will then be able to track the progress of their query, adding more details if they find out more.

Councillor Ruth Dombey said: “This is all part of our efforts to make it quicker, easier and cheaper for residents to use our services.

“It means people will be able to access our services 24 hours day, seven days a week and can see what is being done about their concern.

“It will also save money. Residents won’t have to come over to the Civic Centre on the bus or pay for parking.

“And, although some people prefer a face to face service, more and more residents want to do business with us on the web. By helping them do so, we are able to shift traffic away from our call centres, so cutting costs.”
