Steve Parish has given his complete backing to under-pressure Crystal Palace manager George Burley.

The Eagles' co-chairman went on fans forum holmesdaleonline after Saturday's defeat to Millwall to answer questions from supporters who quizzed him about Burley's future.

Under the former Scotland international boss, Palace had taken just eight points from 11 games before tonight's trip to Norwich City and sit second-bottom in the nPower Championship table.

Parish though he is confident the tide will turn and Burley will start to get things right.

"Clearly none of us are happy at our league position but in the last three games we have performed well," he wrote.

"What we have to do is to learn how to win games and to win games you need to score when you are on top.

"George knows what he is doing and gradually it's coming right, we need a few wins on the bounce and things will start looking up."

When one fan asked if he would still back Burley if the club were in the bottom three come January, Parish replied: "When and if that happens, we'll look at it together and evaluate it.

"Right now we are trying to build for the long term, me, Martin (Long), Phil (Alexander), George, Dougie (Freedman) and everyone at the club.

"We have new players and are playing a passing style, it's going to take time and chopping and changing managers doesn't get you there any quicker."

Burley himself has insisted he is not concerned about relegation and happy with the way his team has been playing.

"We knew it was going to be a difficult season but it is not half way gone yet," he said.

“We have a fight on our hands and it is something we have got to live with and take on board.

“It's not a case where we are getting run off our feet and getting outplayed.

“If we keep playing the manner we are I am sure there won't be any problem as far as the bottom three.

“If we had been out there not creating opportunities and being over-run week-in week-out it would be a big worry - but I am sure things will turn around."
