Pupils at Thames Ditton Junior School took part in their annual sponsored run on Friday, October 8, to raise money for the NSPCC.

Over 350 children and staff from the school in Mercer Close donned their running gear and trainers to jog or walk laps of the school's grounds for 40 minutes.

Money raised was shared between the NSPCC and the school, where a number of projects are taking place, including a new library.

Prior to the charity run, children attended an assembly with representatives from the NSPCC to learn about the charity's work.

Headteacher Nick Fry said: "Our annual sponsored run is an occasion that the children and staff really enjoy. All who took part should feel extremely proud of their achievement.

“We are fortunate to have such a supportive community of parents, who give up their time to help with marshalling, marking lap cards and, of course, cheering the children on or even running alongside them.

“The NSPCC is a very worthwhile charity and our pupils have been really motivated by the idea of helping other children in need.”
