A family of five were rescued from their burning flat this morning.
The Korean family were evacuated from a first floor window above K Mart at Sussex Place, in New Malden High Street.
The couple and three children were taken to hospital but have no serious injuries.
Firefighters were called at 6.45am when an accidental fire began in a utility room on the ground floor of the flat.
Flames leaped up the stairs towards the main living area of the flat on the first floor, blocking the exit.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said the family were forced to take refuge upstairs until they were rescued.
Traffic slowed around the flat while firefighters from Surbiton, New Malden, Wimbledon and Sutton worked.
The fire was out by 8.11am. A spokesman said the flat was partially damaged by the blaze.
