Lambeth’s top policeman met members of the borough’s antisocial behaviour taskforce in Gipsy Hill.
Chief Superintendent Nick Ephgrave, met the unit on the estate in Central Hill on Monday.
The team is patrolling the area after complaints about people travelling to the area to intimidate residents.
The unit has been working in Streatham and West Norwood.
The response team is funded by the council and despatched to areas identified by the council’s community safety team, but under police command.
Both council leader Steve Reed and Chief SuptEphgrave said the team was an example of excellent partnership working between the council and police.
Te unit could be rolled out across the borough if its six-month pilot is considered a success.
