A police cordon has been set up in Haydons Road in Wimbledon after a man died this afternoon.
The London Ambulance service (LAS) confirmed a man had died at the scene after initial reports that he had been taken ill.
An LAS spokeswoman said: “We were called at 2.15pm to reports of a person taken unwell at Haydons Road. We sent one ambulance crew to the scene, but unfortunately we understand that person has now died.”
