England and Harlequins rugby player Danny Care opened a brand new sports hall at a Wallington school this week.
The scrum-half visited Wallington Country Grammar School, in Croydon Road, on Wednesday (October 20).
Headteacher Peter Smart said: “Anyone who knows WCGS knows this sports hall has been a long time coming. Only open for half a term, it has already dramatically improved the games lessons and specific sports that are practiced there.
“We wanted to celebrate the official opening and to thank everyone in the school community who has given so much help to make this happen.”
The WCGS Sports Hall was completed in the summer after being partly funded by grants and partly through fundraising.
The facility is now fully equipped with four full-size cricket nets, three basketball courts, one football pitch, one volleyball court, one netball court, four badminton courts, a separate fitness suite and extensive changing facilities.
