Sutton and East Surrey Water volunteer heads to Bangladesh for WaterAid
3:28pm Tuesday 16th November 2010 in News
Volunteer: Jeremy Heath
A water engineer who helped raise thousands of pounds for a charity is to visit Bangladesh to see how the money will be spent improving poor communities' access to safe water and sanitation.
Jeremy Heath, who works for Sutton and East Surrey Water, is to visit the developing nation to see the work of WaterAid, the charity he has championed for many years.
He said: “It’s easy to take clean water for granted when it comes at the turn of a tap, but 884 million people do not have this basic necessity.”
Jeremy will join fundraisers from 11 other water industry companies on the visit starting on November 26.
He will write a blog on his experiences and post pictures at waterplc.com.
