Scouts braved sub-zero temperatures during a Christmas Day dip in the English Channel.
The fundraising paddle by members of Merton Park Explorer Scouts raised cash to improve a community health centre in Kenya.
The unit has been doing charity work in Kenya for more than 20 years – and in 1996 built a clinic in the north-west town of Mbrake-Chembe.
On July 12, scouts and eight helpers will fly to the country to build a new toilet block and fencing for the centre, and help with maintainance work.
The pack expects to raise about £2,000 towards the project from the Christmas swim, and the unit is planning more fundraising events.
