Armed robbers escaped with a small amount of cash after holding up a hotel in a terrifying night time raid.

Five masked men burst into the lobby of the Queens Hotel, Upper Norwood and demanded staff hand over money from the reception area.

When they realised no money was held there, the attackers threatened hotel workers with a gun and demanded they open the safe.

One member of staff was cut above his eye after being struck by one of the robbers, before all five raiders made off in two cars parked in front of the hotel.

No arrests have been made in the three weeks since the robbery, which happened at about 10.30pm on December 15, 2010.
