England football captain Faye White lent some words of wisdom to a group of schoolgirls as they strive to become cup heroes.

The Arsenal Ladies defender took girls from Coloma Convent School for an impromptu training session ahead of their bid to be crowned champions in the Football League under 13 girls south regional cup.

Representing Crystal Palace, the girls are one of eight teams vying for a place in the grand final, which will be played prior to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at Wembley stadium on April 3.

Miss White said: “It’s great to be supporting grassroots football and an absolute privilege to be working alongside these extremely talented young girls.

“The npower Football League U13 Girls Cup really champions the future of women’s football and the opportunity to play in front of a huge crowd at Wembley Stadium is an absolute dream for any footballer.”

The team will be hoping to emulate Sutton’s Overton Grange School, who lifted the trophy while representing Crystal Palace in the 2010 competition.
