A history group will be talking about a restoration project to make over an ageing chapel and improve biodiversity at Streatham cemetery in Tooting.

The cemetery is near the Tooting Broadway end of Garratt Lane but is managed by Lambeth Council.

The Tooting Local History Group has teamed up withthe Friends of Streatham Cemetery to host the talk which will be an illustrated history of Streatham Cemetery and the challenges relating to the repair and reuse of the redundant chapel.

As well as learning about existing proposals, the meetings will give attendees the chance to contribute their own ideas and volunteer to get involved.

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 9 between 7pm and 8.30pm at the Christian Education Centre, 21 Tooting Bec Road. Refreshments will be available.

The second will be on Sunday, February 13 at the Nonconformists' Chapel in the cemetery grounds (the building on the left as you enter) between 11am and 12.30pm. Refreshments will be available here too.
