A mother of three was assaulted as she took her children to school in Ashtead by a woman who trapped in her hand in her car window before driving off.

The assault happened on Monday, May 9 at about 8.15am as the victim was driving along Leatherhead Road (A24) when she noticed a motorist driving aggressively behind her.

She pulled into Epsom Road and approached the woman, who did not leave her car but spat in her face.

She allegedly put up her hand up in self defence but it was then trapped in the car window by the driver who then drove off.

She was pulled along for a short distance suffering minor foot and arm injuries.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Simon Evans said: “Not only did the victim sustain minor injuries but her children were in the car at the time and also witnessed their mother being hurt which has obviously left them upset.”

Her attacker is described as white, aged between 20 and 25-years-old, of slight build with fair skin and freckles.

Her hair was brown and mid-length with the fringe brushed to the right hand-side of her face.

She was wearing a white short sleeved blouse and was softly spoken.
