An “abusive, threatening and intimidating” 50-year-old woman has been given an antisocial behaviour order (Asbo) forbidding her to go to GPs and dentists in London.

The order was granted for two years by Camberwell Magistrates’ Court on May 23, preventing the woman, from Herne Hill, from entering any NHS dental or medical premises in Greater London.

The unusual order was granted because of her chaotic behaviour.

The court heard she was involved in incidents of abusive, threatening and intimidating behaviour towards staff and patients at several locations in Lambeth and Southwark.

Lambeth police worked with staff from King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, South London and Maudsley NHS Trust and Lambeth Council to obtain the order after she refused all other options of support offered.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will still be entitled to emergency treatment and appointments but will be required to behave appropriately at all times.

King’s College Hospital police liaison officer PC Graham Alldus said support from staff of the two hospital trusts meant the woman would now be liable for breaches of the asbo and could be sentenced to up to five years in jail.
