A Brixton Hill man has been arrested in connection with a murder which took place outside a KFC shop.

The man, aged 24, was arrested at 2pm today (June 2) on Brixton Hill, on suspicion of murder by officers from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command.

Three other men aged 21, 22, and 23 had been previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Alper Pasha, 43, from Bermondsey, was found unconscious outside KFC in Brixton Road, on May 26, at about 11.05pm.

He was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital in a critical condition. He died on Monday, May 30.

Police believe that the victim and two friends were involved in a fight with three other men. This led to one of the them attacking Mr Pasha, hitting him over the head with a blunt object.

The three men then made off in the direction of Coldharbour Lane.

Next of kin have been informed and police now await the result of the post mortem examination.

All the arrested men have been taken to a south London police station. Enquiries continue.

An incident room is open at Sutton under Detective Chief Inspector Amanda Hargreaves from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC).

Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8721 4155 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
