A Clapham man who died after being stabbed in the heart on Saturday has been named.

Carlos Roberto Oliveria, 27, died after being stabbed in Watling Avenue, Edgware.

Police found Mr Oliveria collapsed with a stab wound to the chest at 3.51am. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin have been informed, a police spokesman said.

A post mortem examination conducted at Finchley Mortuary on Sunday gave the cause of death as a shock and hemorrhage as a result of a single stab wound to the heart.

No weapon has been recovered and no arrests made, the spokesman added.

An incident room has opened under Acting Detective Chief Inspector Sheila Stewart of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC) and an inquest is scheduled to open in due in due course.

Detective Inspector Leon James, of the HSCC, said: "We are keen to identify witnesses who may have seen people entering or leaving the premises.

"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a group of men outside the location.

"We ask anyone with information to contact us - all calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence."
