The 1st Ewell Village Brownies and Guides joined more than 4,000 girl guides from across London and the South East this month for a charity walk across eight of London’s world-famous bridges.

The group of 11 Brownies and 12 Guides, aged seven to 14, took part in the event on Saturday, July 9, starting a Tower Bridge and finishing at Westminster Bridge.

While completing the challenge, the girls enjoyed stunning views of the River Thames and other famous London landmarks including City Hall, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Millennium Eye.

They also had the chance to meet other members from across the region.

Gemma, 9, said: "I felt proud of myself to have walked all of the bridges and to get a medal at the end."

Lauren, 9, added: "It was great to see the Houses of Parliament so close up."

The event was designed to encourage walking as a way of exploring the outdoors with each girl collecting a medal once they had completed their walk.
