The family of a boy who died in a tragic playground accident have paid tribute to their loving son.

Five-year-old Samuel Orola fell from a playground climbing frame at Tolworth Infants School yesterday afternoon.

In a statement, his parents, younger sister and wider fammily said: "Following Samuel's tragic death at school yesterday, we would like to thank everyone for their support and good wishes.

"Samuel was a loving and happy boy who touched everyone's life in a very positive way.

"We will certainly never forget the happy times we shared with him and pray his soul rests is perfect piece. Amen.

"This is obviously a trying time for the family and we appeal for privacy to grieve, thank you."

A police spokesman said a post-mortem will take place on Tuesday, September 20, and an inquest will be opened and adjourned in due course.

The death is being treated as unexplained at this time and officers from Kingston are investigating.

Detective Inspector Ray Williams of Kingston CID said: "Our condolences go out to Samuel's family and friends and we will work closely with the school to carry out our investigations with minimum disruption to their young pupils.

"The investigation is in its early stages and inquiries are underway to establish what the full circumstances of the incident are."
