A Croydon office superstore reopened this weekend, after it had to be closed because of damage caused by the riots.

Deputy Mayor Cllr David Fitze officially opened the White Horse Road branch of Staples.

Store manager Les Reed welcomed the community back into the store after the troubles and announced Staples hopes to work with local community youth groups to help tackle the route causes for the violence.

Les said: “What happened was hard for all of us. But the staff here have been brilliant, working round the clock to make sure we could get back up and running to serve the local community as soon as we could.”
