Epsom fire crews battled a blaze at a home for old people in the early hours of this morning, September 30, where one resident is still missing.
Ten fire engines fought the fire at Gibson Court in Manor Road North in Hinchley Wood, which provides supported housing to elderly residents across 50 flats.
Fire crews from Epsom, Leatherhead, Esher, Subury, Kingston and Twickenham were on the scene from 12.45am.
A spokesperson for Epsom Green Watch said: "Most people got out OK but there is still one person unaccounted for.
"They are hoping for the best but there was quite a big roof collapse.
"There was quite a bit of smoke inhalation but the evacuation was on the whole a success."
Fire crews remain at the scene.
It not yet known how the fire started.
